Results behind the cut )

Exercise this week:
I walked nine miles over 5 days, I did not swam or kayak. I did 4 half hour yoga sessions, I spent 1 hour carting boxes of games for setup.

My average calories per day this week were 1600;
with a range of 1471 – 1828.

My big concern was Gaming Weekend, my first day there I was way over on calories, but I managed to stay with reasonable numbers on Sat & Sun. I made sure to get in some walking in and at least 1 yoga session over the weekend. Gaming 22 hours, with 2 hours of sleep a day may also have spent more calories than usual.

Now the news that some of you have been waiting for results under the cut )

My obstacle this week was not sabotaging myself. My body kept saying "Aren't we done with this exercise stuff yet? We lost 20 lbs. already." On one day I didn't do anything, no walking, no swimming and no yoga.

Once this past week I had a dream I was eating a really decadent dessert, and I thought “I’ve already had my calories for the day I should stop eating this.” But I didn’t (couldn’t) stop, I kept shoveling it in.

I did manage to hold my ground at 162 this week. I’m hoping that I’m over this phase next week and can make some progress.

Exercise this week:
I walked ten miles over 5 days, I swam twice, I did not kayak. I have been easing back into exercise after last week's cold. I did 7 half hour yoga sessions.

My average calories per day this week were 1600,
with a range of 1482 - 1887

My weight last week was 164 lbs. (74 kilograms)
My weight today is 162 lbs. (73 kilograms)

I have now been counting calories and increasing my activity for three months. When I first started this I predicted reaching my target weight "safely should take me at least 3 to 6 months". At the time three months was the Pie-In-The-Sky Optimist estimate. I am flabergasted that at three months I am only three pounds away from 159. My pants fit better, but now some of my shirts are like tents. The baithing suit I bought in the spring is now alarmingly loose on me. I'm almost there.

On Friday the 13th (no I didn't plan that)

Exercise this week:
I caught a cold. No, that doesn't count as exercise. I mention it to explain my lack of exercise
I walked five and a half miles over 3 days, I swam once (before the cold hit) I did not kayak.
I completed Day 25 thru 28 of the 28 Day Yoga Exercise Plan, (I finished the book!) and did Routine A in the back of the book. (5 half-hour yoga sessions)

My average calories per day this week were 1613,
with a range of 1460 - 2039. Terrible numbers at both ends.

My weight last week was 164 lbs. (74 kilograms)
My weight today is 164 lbs. (74 kilograms)

It was a rough week, but at least I didn't lose any ground. I still have 5 lbs. to go to reach my target weight.

I ate way too much last night. I’m not just talking about going over my calories for the day (which I did) I’m talking about feeling overfull.

It had been a rough weekend; I came down with a cold, the water heated leaked, ruining several boxes (my books were o.k.) and we had 36 hours without hot water till the water heater was replaced.

After all that no one felt like cooking last night so we went out to eat. The food was very good. I started with French onion soup, then had steak tips, sweet potato wedges, and glazed carrots. For desert I had peanut butter fudge pie. It really was quite good.

Unfortunately after over two months of 5 small meals a day I’m not used to eating that much at once anymore.

I also haven't been exercising because of the cold, so I'm not expecting any weight loss this week.

Exercise this week:
I walked 13 miles over 6 days, I swam 6 times, and kayaked 1 time. I completed Day 19 thru 24 of the 28 Day Yoga Exercise Plan (6 half-hour yoga sessions) I thought I did yoga every morning but I seem to be missing a session.

My average calories per day this week were 1599,
with a range of 1546 - 1754.

My weight last week was 166 lbs. (75 kilograms)
My weight today is 164 lbs. (74 kilograms)

In addition to the pants buttons I had sewn back on last month, I have now sewn two shirt collar buttons back on.

After 10 weeks on this diet of about 11200 calories a week (Average of 1600 per day) my body seems to have become accustomed to it. In the past two days I've had to remind myself to have desert because I wasn't hungry at the end of dinner, but I was still 300 calories short for the day.

I am being dilligent and not allowing myself to go under 1500 calories per day even if it means forcing myself to eat desert.

Exercise this week:
I walked 13 miles over 6 days, I swam 4 times, and kayaked 1 time. I completed Day 12 thru 18 of the 28 Day Yoga Exercise Plan (7 half-hour yoga sessions), plus 2 additional afternoon yoga sessions.

My average calories per day this week were 1595,
with a range of 1546 - 1715.

My weight last week was 167 lbs. (76 kilograms)
My weight today is 166 lbs. (75 kilograms)

I’ve been doing my daily yoga in the morning right after I get up, which is when I am stiffest. I am finding that in my afternoon yoga sessions I am much more flexible. The swimming is what is really making the weight loss difference.
