"I'm going to go back there someday"

I am sorry to say I am not going to OVFF this year.

There are multiple reasons including, the budget and starting a new job. (No, I won't be making to to Windycon this year either.)

Because I won't be there in person I have sent in my Online Pegasus Ballot If you consider yourself a Filker, and haven't voted yet Today is the last day to vote.

Now that the Pegasus Ballots are Open I want to share some thoughts on the Best Performer Category. I am not going to campaign on behalf a specific filker, but there is something I want people to consider in their nominations this year.

The filk community is blessed with a wealth of talented performers, as we can see from both the past winners and 63 suggestions on the brainstorming poll. With so many talented people we tend to focus on the singers; however there are many filkers who perform without singing. Some play woodwind, some play brass, there are those who play stringed instruments, and those who play percussion. They add that something extra to the already awesome song.

So I am suggesting this year when you nominate people for Best Performer, consider the musicians who support the singers.

It is that time of year again, to consider nominations for The Pegasus Award for Excellence in Filking and the Brainstorming Poll Results are up, however these suggestions are an unedited list which may contain people/songs who are Ineligible for awards this year. (Note: I am not an official part of the Pegasus Awards; I am just trying to remind people of some of the rules that can affect nomination.)

Anyone who has won Best Composer is ineligible to win again for 5 years. The last five years winners are:

Also ineligible for Best Composer by the "2 years nominated, 1 year off" rule is:
