Once there I started on my first mission of the day, trading the black Magic the Gathering deck for a green one. This involved walking up to strangers and asking what type of deck they got in their swag bag. I managed to trade black for red fairly quickly, but it took a while to find someone who wanted to part with green. As I was wandering I happened to see Anakin Michele who I know from Arisia.
I did not try to rush into the dealers’ room at 10am with the rest of the hoard. I went to the board & card gaming section and tried out Edujamacated, a game using scrabble letters requiring substituting some letters.
I went to the dealers’ room at about 10:30. Deciding that a “scavenger hunt” would be fun I picked up some Cheese Weasel Quest cards. The cards have the names & numbers of a dozen dealers’ booths. I went around getting the cards punched by dealers (some just punched it; others required playing a demo or solving a puzzle). I checked out some booths, bought some dice and coins, played a demo of the Cutthroat Caverns expansion, and then it was time to work at the ENnies booth. From Noon to 2pm I handed out flyers promoting the ENnies Nominees and the Ceremony with Nareau.
As it turned out Nareau was also in Reveals’ 2pm Legends are Made, not Born game. Hand of Evil and der_kluge both arrived early so we headed over to the Embassy Suites to game. It was a fun game; well paced, every character had a purpose. I was the wizard’s apprentice (expert). Reveal did a good job DM’ing.
After that I went back to my room to pick up my phone. CGC had left a message asking me to pick her up some dinner. I went over to the mall, picked her up a chicken nugget meal, and brought it to the gaming room.
I hung around the gaming library till CGC was done her tournament, and then taught her Race for the Galaxy. After that we decided to call it a night, but stopped at Steak & Shake when I realized I was starving.
