Staggering back from the kitchen.... First course: duck paste, wrinkly black olives with herbs, crusty bread, wine. Second course: pommes anna, aged thick cut steak, kaiser salad, grilled asparagus, and wine ... first wine was a dud, bring on the zinfandel. Dessert: spice cake with brown butter frosting and a pavlova with a sneaky dessert wine, followed by a digestive of seltzer. [Not counting the bar-b-queue yesterday or the sushi on saturday... why yes, we have been overdoing it...]
