Borders "Dutch auction" Final Weekend
Sep. 10th, 2011 11:04 pmOn September 7th the SF/F section discount was 60% off
On September 10th the SF/F section discount was 90% off
In the SF/F section there were 8 shelves with 7 “risers” each (56 sections).
In the SF/F section books filled 9 sections today. That comes out to about 16% inventory, with 10% cost. We are down to slim pickin’s. There were some things I picked up today because a dollar is not much risk.
Today I picked up
An Artificial Night By Seanan McGuire for $ .80 (I already have a signed copy, sometimes it is good to have an unsigned spare to loan to people.)
Alien Tango & Alien in the Family by Gini Koch for $ .80 each
Halting State by Charles Stross for $ .80
Breakaway & Killswitch by Joel Shepherd for $ 1.00 each
So in the end I spent $91.49 on 23 books, for an average about $3.98 per book. If I had paid full price for those books they would have cost $218.77. That is an overall cost of 41.82% (58.18% discount).
