Warning these posts will contain spoilers, it is best to listen to the episode first. You can listen to the episode Here
Now we get into a transitional episode. I'll admit it is not the most inspiring episode but it has it's moments.
Mike comes up with a “Big Idea” to help Zana, and to repay his debt. Katherine is offended by his capitalist approach. People take sides. While there is a fair bit of comic relief in the bickering, the main purpose of this plotline is to further isolate Shae.
She is already carrying the burden of her secret (that the ancients said she could not go back to Boston with Mike and Katherine), trying to understand her dreams/nightmares, while learn magic, and feeling guilty that she doesn’t miss her family even more.
Here I will mention that Becki Davis (who plays Shae/Shauna Brown) has a bit of a reputation as a “Miss everything to everyone” herself. In addition to playing a major (some consider staring) role in Second Shift she is also a Producer of the show.
