In book two of the October Daye series Toby finds herself outside her comfort zone, in more ways than one. Traveling to Tamed Lightning (the fae’s answer to Silicon Valley) she has to deal with faeries, technology and magic like nothing she has encountered. Unfortunately with so much unfamiliar it is a challenge for Toby to realize the right questions to ask.
While discovering what she can about Tamed Lightning Toby also gives us insights into the complex world of fae which the author has created for us. While the setting is fascinating the thing that makes this book appealing to me is the characters. I found myself really caring about most of the characters, which is not wise, because in a murder mystery, someone is a murderer and someone is going to die.
It was definitely a read-it-all-in-one-gulp book. I recommend it.
