maverick_weirdoCons are an amazing experience for me. I have many diverse interests & hobbies, and most of them seem to intersect at a con.
Friday; random socializing
I arrived at about 7pm Friday to a con already in full swing. Reg was quick and painless (I was preregged). My first concern was stowing my bags and/or finding my roommate![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
docwatson42 who I have never actually met before (I had a picture of him & knew that he would be a particular panel at 9pm). I quickly found persis who nicely agreed to let me leave my bags in her room, in spite of the 80 kinds of chaos she was dealing with, (there were over 80 kids in fast-track this year.)
Feeling lighter without the baggage, I wandered the con to see who I could find. I foundultimatepsi who I know through board-gaming, saraphina_marie an author I met at Pi-Con last year, and a lot of other people I know by face but not by name.
A little after 8:00 pm I decided to check out the Victorian Dance, I went in and tried to work up the courage to ask someone to dance. While I was doing this I spottedkissoflife, she was gathering an audience for a preview of RED SHIFT, INTERPLANETARY DO-GOODER an original sci-fi radio drama performed by the Post-Meridian Radio Players. I knew that they were performing Sunday, so decided to check it out. They did a short introductory skit (about 20 minutes) which was very amusing. From there I went back to the other room and did a couple of contra-dances with kissoflife.
At 9:30 I found docwatson42 at his panelteddywolf was also on the panel (I bumped into him several places.) Once I got my bags situated in the room I went to check out the drum circle, but all the “spare drums” were claimed. After that I was invited to Rocky Horror by cupiekake, one of the The Teseracte Players. I sat near ultimatepsi, and Nuance (who I have met at previous cons). Luke Ski opened the show with his parody Mystery Science Theater Picture Show.
After that I headed over to the game room and signed up for the “Midnight Cosmic Encounter” game being held the next night. I finally got to sleep around 4am.
