Warning these posts will contain spoilers, it is best to listen to the episode first. You can listen to the episode Here
. Poor Belone (the worker at Zana’s) everyone ignores him.
While this episode is called “The Trial, Part Two” there were actually two separate trials. The previous episode was Arkahn’s trial; this episode is Jareth’s trial.
Jareth giving up University is more significant than Mike giving up his dream of pro football. Mike’s dream was unlikely; Jareth’s was a sure thing. While Jareth still believes in the principals of University, no institution is perfect (a reoccurring theme this season). The question it came down to was not “Be loyal to University or friends?”; the question was “When University doesn’t hold to its own principals, what do you do?”
After Targonane tells Jareth not to be rash; Mike, Katherine, and Fezmer try to shield Jareth from doing anything actively illegal; and Kasha ask Jareth to stay with her; we finally get to Arkahn who tries to talk Jareth out of saving her life, because she does not want to be responsible for ruining his life also. Jareth holds true to his principals.
I cannot let this episode go without commenting on Mike singing the Mission Impossible theme while “sneaking” into University. Comedy Gold!
