maverick_weirdoThe very first podcast I listened to online was Second Shift and it was great. Somehow they wrote a story both funny and serious, spooky and heartwarming. I was lucky enough to find it just as they were finishing Season 1, so that I could devour it all at once. I really enjoyed it and looked forward to Season 2!
Partway through Season 2 Second Shift hit problems (life happened, people moved away, changed jobs, finished school, got married, got divorced, got burned out). After releasing 12 episodes in 2006 (most of Season 1), they only released 8 episodes in 2007, 2 episodes in 2008, 6 episodes in 2009, and then none in 2010. Some people thought Second Shift had died before reaching the ending.
Well those people were wrong. Two of the final three episodes have been released this year. The last one is due out in mid-July.
To celebrate I am going to relisten to the entire series from the begining, and post comments about it, one episode a day, starting tomorrow. With 13 episodes (plus the bonus "Live at Arisia" episode) in the first season, and 15 episodes from the second season released so far, that's 29 days. By then the Final Episode will be nearly done.
