So remember last month when I posted about buying a bodhran at a pawn shop in Portland, ME. (Pretend you remember.)

Well the reason I was in Portland was for a job interview, and it is now official that I got the job. It is part time and temporary but it is a software testing job. After 3 years it is good to be getting back into QA.

Today was my first day at my new part time job. I'm working for The Local Bookie.
(It is a used bookstore)

I'll only be getting 10 to 20 hours a week, but something is better than nothing.

This means I'll probably be able to afford to attend the 2 cons I am working for this summer.

I am now employed! I just went to Orientation.

Starting this week I will be working for Crate and Barrel.

I'll be continuing to send out Software Testing resumes, but in my experience most companies don't hire IT people fourth quarter anyway.

Thank you everyone who sent prayers/well wishes

It looks like I have finally lined up a lousy job.

Now to see if I can arrange for a better job before training starts

Just in case anyone hadn't already noticed, I live in the Boston area, and My Lady lives in the Chicago area. To that end (or to end that), I am looking for work in the Chicago area (preferably Metro accessable).

I am a Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Tester) with 3.5 years experience.

If anyone hears of a Software QA job, or can suggest a good company to work for, in Chicagoland, please let me know.
